Use Control+F in iOS 16 on iPhone and iPad: Quick Guide

It’s worth pointing out that the built-in tool to search for text supports only a handful of first-party apps including Apple Safari and Notes. In this guide, we are going to demonstrate the steps using both of these popular apps.

Search text on a Safari Webpage on iPhone and iPad

  1. First off, open Safari on your iPhone or iPad, and then head over to the webpage where you want to search for text.
  2. Now, tap on the Share icon and choose to Find on Page.
  3. In the text input field, enter the text you want to search for.
  4. Next, the searched word will be automatically highlighted. Besides, you should also see the number of times that particular word appears on the page.
  5. Next up, you can use the up/down arrow to jump to the highlighted words. In the end, tap on the Done button to finish.

Search Specific Text in a Note on iPhone and iPad

Searching for a text inside a note is just as straightforward.

  1. To get started, launch the Notes app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Now, head over to a note and open it.
  3. Next, tap on the share icon at the bottom of the screen and choose to Find in Note.
  4. Next up, enter the text into the text input field. Once the searched word is highlighted, check the number of times that word is present in the note. Moreover, you can also use the up/down arrow to find where the word is present.
  5. Tap on Done to finish.
