1. Merge & Center:

Combining more cells into one cell and centring the text is called the Merge & Centre. Go to the Home tab Select the range of cells and enter the text that you want to merge and centre the text Then click on the drop-down arrow of the Merge and Center Afterwards, select Merge and Center in the Alignment group Look at the 5th step of the picture below, in which the cells are merged and the text centred.

2. Merge Across:

Merging cells by combining Vertical lines and leaving horizontal lines to merge across the selected cells. Select the range of cells that you want to merge across Then go to the Home tab After that, click the drop-down arrow, which appears at the right of Merge & Center In the Alignments group. And then select Merge Across The next step continues below the screenshot…… Now, look at the 5th step of the screenshot below, in which the cells are merged across.

3. Merge Cells in Excel:

Select the range of cells that you want On the Home tab, in the Alignments group, click the drop-down arrow which appears at the right of Merge & Center and then select Merge Cells.

4. Unmerge Cells:

Select the range of cells that you want On the Home tab, in the Alignments group, click the drop-down arrow which appears at the right of Merge & Center and then select Unmerge Cells.
